The links on this page lead to interactive demonstrations of the APOS Location Intelligence Solution (LIS): Cloud Edition. This solution provides hosted location intelligence services linking business intelligence to Esri GIS.
Each of the linked demos demonstrate something specific about LIS in the Cloud.

APOS Location Intelligence Solution for SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 FP3 Dashboards (Xcelsius)

The APOS Location Intelligence Solution allows you to embed maps in SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 FP3 Dashboards (Xcelsius). Use the interactive dashboard in the demo to select single or multiple states, drill down to counties, and view summarized data for your selections.
Instructions:
1.Hover the mouse over a state. A summary of the report data appears in a pop-up.
2.Select a state by clicking on it. Tabular data and graphs appear below the map.
3.Double click a state to drill down. A map of the state appears showing the counties within it. (Note: If you are using a tablet touch the drill down button ( ) on the right and then touch a state to drill down.)
4.Select or un-select one or more counties by clicking on them or by dragging a rectangle. Tabular data appears below the map.
5.Click the Drill Up ( ) button to return to the state level.

Waterlines Projects Dashboard with Location Intelligence implementation

This demo shows a dashboard presentation that contains an Xcelsius report, a Location Intelligence visualization and a Crystal Report
Instructions:
1.Double click on the Waterline Projects With Costs dashboard.
2.In the Waterline Project, which is an Xcelsius list, (on the left side), scroll down and select ProjectID = S1005. The map will update with your selection.
3.Move the cursor over the map.
4.The pipelines that make up the project are displayed in green. Hover over any pipeline segment and it will turn red. Double click the red segment to execute a report.
5.The Crystal Report in the lower left corner of the dashboard is refreshed with the data extracted from the map selection.

Well Production Reports using APOS Location Intelligence.

This demonstration shows a map that allows a user to select well points and launch related report content. The reports are: a Well production Crystal Report with embedded Live viewer, a Crystal Report with a static map image, and a Web Intelligence report with an embedded Live Viewer. Each of these reports show similar content, but the end-use of the report is different. A static map is useful for archival and compliance purposes, an interactive map allows the user to refine their viewing scale and perspective. The report format such as Web Intelligence or Crystal Report, is a preference, comfort, or application decision. No matter your report format preference, you can configure APOS Location Intelligence solution to fit your needs.
Instructions:
1.Click (Main menu icon) in the APOS Viewer, then click (Tools icon), and then click (Selection Tool icon).
2.Click the Rectangle selector icon at the top of the Selection Tool window.
3.Use your mouse to select an area of the map that contains well point locations.
4.Choose the Profile from the drop down list, 1)Crystal Report Live Viewer, 2)Crystal Report Static Map, 3)Webi Live Viewer.
5.Click the Run Report icon to execute a Report with business intelligence data and an interactive map or static map.

Side by Side Emergency Response Field Operations report with Location Intelligence implementation

This demo shows a side by side presentation of a map and report that contains a Web Intelligence report and a Location Intelligence viewer containing map data.
Instructions:
1.Click (Main menu icon) in the APOS Viewer, then click (Tools icon), and then click (Selection Tool icon).
2.In the selection tool, choose a selector (e.g. rectangle) and draw a shape on the map that encompasses one or more command posts (green and red symbol).
3.From the selector list, choose your selection (e.g. Selection1).
4.Click Run reports.
5.The Web Intelligence report on the right hand side will update.
6.In the report, click one of the command post records, (click the link to text map element hyperlink).
7.The map will update and zoom to the selected command post.
8.Use the navigation tools to pan and zoom around the map.

Location Intelligence for Insurance

Insurance analysts use location intelligence to understand and mitigate risk. This demo shows the path of a hurricane and lets the analyst select an area to see the customers in that area whom are at risk.
Instructions:
1.Click (Main menu icon) in the APOS Viewer, then click (Tools icon), then click (Selection Tool icon).
2.Click the Rectangle selector icon at the top of the Selection Tool window.
3.Use your mouse to select an area of the map.
4.Click the Run Report icon to execute a Crystal Report with business intelligence data and an interactive map.
5.Click the Financial Exposure in Hurricane Path link to display the report content.
6.In the Crystal Report, scroll down to see the entire LIVE Viewer in the lower half of the report.
7.Double-click on the Acetate Text of one of the Customer Points (e.g. EILEMBERG)
8.Your browser may prompt at the top to allow a script to run. Allow this and repeat Step 7.
9.Copy the text that appears to your clipboard (Ctrl-C) and click the OK button on the dialog box.
10.Double-click on the Red colored point beside the text that you just copied. This will perform a drill-down to Drive-time polygons
11.Zoom in to enlarge the Drive-time polygon. As you zoom closer, the green points representing the Agents will appear.
12.Use the Selection Tool (in the same way as in steps 1 & 2 above) to select the Agents within the 15 minute Drive-time polygon.
13.Click the Run Report icon to execute a Crystal Report with a list of the Agents, their e-mail addresses, and their case load.
14.Click on the e-mail address of the agent with the lowest case load. Your e-mail program will create a new e-mail message.
15.In the message body, paste in the Customer info that you copied to the clipboard in step 9.

Display and Select on AutoCAD Drawings Using FME Transformations

This demo uses FME transformation technology, developed using Safe Software, to integrate various spatial data with Esri GIS technology on the APOS LIS platform. This functionality allows you to make geospatial selections against an AutoCAD-developed file via an FME transformation and run a report about the selection on your BI system that will display a visualization of the extracted data.
Instructions:
1.Scroll down to the end of the report, where you will see an interactive map in the embedded APOS LIVE Viewer. This map consists of a base map and a layer based on an FME transformation of an AutoCAD drawing. The map shows a route for service personnel to follow, a legend describing the route, and two service sites, represented by a small red circle and a small red dot. .
2.Click (Main menu icon) in the APOS Viewer, then click (Tools icon), then click (Selection Tool icon). The Selection Tool appears.
3.Click the Buffer selection shape ( ) and specify a Buffer Distance of 0.5 miles.
4.Click the first service site (the small red circle) to create a buffer zone around the first emergency site.
5.In the Selection Tool, click Selection 1,and then click the (Run Report button). A new report is generated providing detailed information on the selection from BI data sources. Scroll down to the end of the report to see a visualization of the report.

High-Volume Drill-Down for Smart Meters

In this demo, we drill down from a high-level view of electricity smart meters grouped in subsets to the actual smart meters on area of interest. The demo lets your drill down to almost 2 million records in real time.
A report appears in the APOS LIVE Viewer showing the accumulated smart meters in the U.S. You can mouse over a circle to see the number of smart meters installed in that area. The circles are color-coded by volume of smart meters in the area.
To drill down to a specific area:
1.Click (Main menu icon) to display the Main menu options.
2.Click (Drill icon) to display the Drill menu options.
3.Click (Pin icon) on the Drill menu to pin the menu to the Viewer interface.
4.Click (Drill Down icon) on the Drill menu,and then click a dot on the map. The Viewer zooms in to the selected area to display smart meter locations. When you move your mouse over a meter location, you see further details on the smart meter consumption.
5.To view another area, click (Drill Up icon), and click on another dot in the map area.
Note: You can use the Zoom options on the Main menu see more detail and differentiate the smart meter locations better.

Location Intelligence for Insurance - Teradata

Insurance companies typically have large amounts of geospatial data, and may choose to manage that data using premium data warehousing technology, such as Teradata.
This demo shows the same hurricane scenario as the previous demo, but uses the APOS LIS Premium Edition, which includes enhanced connectivity for premium database and data warehousing solutions (Teradata, in this case).
Instructions:
1.Click (Main menu icon) in the APOS Viewer, then click (Tools icon), then click (Selection Tool icon).
2.Click the Rectangle selector icon at the top of the Selection Tool window.
3.Use your mouse to select an area of the map.
4.Click the Run Report icon to display a Crystal Report with business intelligence data and an interactive map.
